This programme is resourced through the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) which is co-funded by the Irish Government, through the Department of Rural and Community Development & the Gaeltacht, and the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus under the Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training (EIST) Programme 2021 -2027 www.eufunds.ie.
Safe Pass
This is a one-day safety awareness training programme aimed at all construction site personnel, including new entrants. The course provides a basic knowledge of health and safety, allowing the delegate to make a positive contribution to the prevention of accidents and avoidance of health hazards within the workplace. Following successful completion of the course, participants are issued with a Safe Pass card by Solas.

Barista Skills
Delivered by Dublin Barista School, this course is a brilliant introduction for those seeking to work in the coffee industry. Along with some coffee theory, participants spend a day practicing their technique on espresso machines, under the supervision of a professionally qualified trainer. After training, participants do a short online course, serving as a recap of the practical training, upon successful completion of which a certificate is then awarded. The Barista Essentials course is fully certified and recognised globally.

Food Safety Course
This course, including Hygiene and Allergen Awareness, is suitable for chefs, kitchen staff, food handlers or anyone that will be working directly handling and preparing food within a business. Based on the HACCP criteria set down by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland's Guide to Food Safety Training at Level 1 (Stage I and Stage II), on completion of this course, participants will be able to understand their requirements under Irish food safety legislation as well as following best food safety practice guidelines.

Manual Handling
Manual handling is the transporting or supporting of any load and includes lifting, putting down, pushing, carrying or moving a load that involves risk, particularly of back injury. In this practical 3 hour course, you will get the knowledge and skills to be able to perform manual handling tasks correctly and safely. Having a Manual Handling certificate can be a help in getting work and is relevant to a wide variety of jobs.

Potential participants must meet SICAP criteria (see below) and register in advance. SICAP (Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme) is a targeted, holistic programme for those who are most disadvantaged and less likely to use mainstream services.
SICAP Criteria
Our SICAP programmes for individuals support people who live in the Bray and North Wicklow areas and who are from these groups:
People living in disadvantaged communities / People impacted by educational disadvantage / People living in jobless households or households where the primary income source is low-paid and/or precarious / People who are long-term unemployed / People with a criminal history / Refugees / International Protection Applicants / People with disabilities / Heads of one-parent families / Travellers / Roma / Island residents
